Fast Thread-Forming Screw

The Fast Thread-Forming Screw is a high-efficiency self-tapping fastener that uses an advanced thread design to form a mating thread directly inside the substrate during screwing, eliminating the need for pre-tapping or pre-drilling. Through a specially designed thread geometry, plastic deformation rather than cutting occurs during screwing, creating a tight-fitting internal thread with excellent shock resistance and anti-loosening capabilities.

 

Manufacturing Process

 

Raw Material Preparation

High-quality round steel or stainless steel wire with chemical composition conforming to international standards for Self-Tapping Screw, such as SAE 1018, SCM435, and 304 stainless steel.

Wire Drawing

Drawing to the target wire diameter, ensuring surface quality and dimensional stability for the Self-Threading Screw, with diameter tolerance controlled within ±0.05 mm.

Cold Heading

Using a single-die, three-punch, multi-station cold heading machine to complete cutting, head forming, and rod processing, with cold heading pressure ranging from approximately 150 to 800 tons to ensure continuous fiber flow for the Self-Cutting Screw.

Secondary Processing

Threading is formed using a precision thread rolling machine, resulting in a dense, crack-free surface beneficial for high fatigue life applications for the Self-Forming Screw.

Heat Treatment

For carbon steel Fast Thread-Forming Screws, quenching and tempering are performed to achieve a hardness of HRC 30–40 to meet the assembly requirements of structural components and power systems.
