Products Description
Solid silver contacts are integral components in the electrical industry. Our Solid Ag Contact and Silver Contact Points are renowned for their high-quality and reliable performance. These contacts, including the Solid Rivet Contacts, are designed to provide excellent electrical conductivity and durability. They are used in a wide range of electrical applications, from relays to switches, ensuring efficient power transfer and stable operation. The Silver Tin Oxide Contact is another variant that offers enhanced properties, such as improved resistance to arcing and wear, making it suitable for more demanding electrical environments.

Product Parameters
Material Purity
We use silver with a purity of at least 99.9% for our Solid Ag Contact. This high purity ensures minimal impurities that could affect conductivity.
Hardness
The hardness of the contacts is maintained within the range of 50 - 70 HV (Vickers hardness). This provides the right balance between durability and conductivity, enabling them to withstand repeated mechanical stress without deforming or losing their electrical properties.
Contact Resistance
The typical contact resistance is less than 5 mΩ, which is crucial for reducing power loss during operation. For example, in a low-voltage circuit application, this low resistance allows for efficient current flow.
Dimensions
The diameter of the Solid Rivet Contacts can vary from 2 mm to 8 mm, depending on the specific application requirements. The length is usually between 5 mm and 15 mm, ensuring a proper fit and connection within the electrical device.

Surface Treatment of Silver Contacts
Plating: To enhance the corrosion resistance and improve the surface conductivity, our silver contacts undergo a plating process. A thin layer of a noble metal, such as gold or palladium, is plated onto the surface. The thickness of the plating layer is typically around 0.1 - 0.5 μm, which provides sufficient protection without significantly affecting the overall dimensions or conductivity of the contact.
Polishing: After plating, the contacts are polished to achieve a smooth surface finish. This not only improves the appearance but also reduces the contact resistance further. The surface roughness is reduced to less than 0.2 μm, ensuring a reliable and efficient electrical connection.

Silver Contact Processing Flow Chart
1. Material Preparation: High-purity silver is sourced and inspected for quality. It is then cut into appropriate sizes for further processing.
2. Cold Forging: The silver pieces are cold forged into the initial shape of the contacts, such as the Solid Rivet Contacts. This process strengthens the material and gives it the desired mechanical properties.
3. Machining: Precision machining is carried out to achieve the final dimensions and tolerances. This includes drilling, milling, and grinding operations to ensure a perfect fit and function.
4. Surface Treatment: As mentioned earlier, the contacts are plated and polished to improve their surface characteristics.
5. Quality Inspection: Each contact is thoroughly inspected for electrical and mechanical properties to ensure it meets the required standards.
