Products Description

Trimetal Silver Contact Rivet is a high-performance electrical contact component with a sandwich structure of silver alloy-copper-silver alloy, assembled through a special metallurgical process. It is specifically designed to solve the problem of severe directional migration of contact materials (anodic corrosion/cathode buildup) caused by the unidirectional nature of current in DC switching devices (such as DC contactors and relays). By using the same or matching silver alloy layers at both ends of the contact (both moving and stationary contacts), material transfer is balanced from the physical source, thereby greatly extending the electrical life and reliability under DC loads.
Manufacturing Advantages and Technical Features
Manufacturing Advantages: The core competitiveness lies in the preparation of multi-layer composite billets and the protection of the integrity of the composite interface at both ends during subsequent forming. This requires specialized extrusion, rolling, or powder metallurgy processes to ensure perfect metallurgical bonding of the three layers at the billet stage. Subsequent cold heading and cutting processes require precise control to prevent cracking or peeling of the silver layer at the ends during deformation of Trimetal Rivets.
Technical Features: Independent control of the silver layer thickness at both Tri Metal Contact Rivets ends is possible, for example, making the anode side slightly thicker to compensate for its typically higher erosion rate. Irregular shapes (such as one flat end and one round end) can be manufactured to meet different contact bridge designs.

Product Properties
Electrical Properties
Contact resistance of Tri Metal Contacts is typically in the range of 0.3-0.8 mΩ, with a temperature rise of <45K under rated current conditions. Dielectric strength can withstand a 3000V AC test voltage without breakdown.
Mechanical Properties
Rivet shear strength >120 MPa, silver-nickel interface bond strength >60 MPa, nickel-copper interface bond strength >70 MPa. Can withstand the mechanical impact of contactor operation without silver layer peeling of Three Compound Rivet.
Environmental Properties
Operating temperature range of Three Compound Contacts -40°C to +125°C, conforming to the standard. Salt spray resistance >1000 hours, damp heat resistance >500 hours.

Main Functions
Bidirectional Conductivity
Symmetrical upper and lower silver layers accommodate bidirectional current, ensuring consistent contact performance in both directions.
Arc Resistance
The silver alloy layer absorbs arc energy, reducing Trimetal Silver Contacts erosion and preventing weld adhesion.
Current Conduction
The copper substrate of Trimetal Rivets provides a low-resistance path, efficiently conducting large currents and reducing power loss.
Mechanical Connection
The Tri Metal Contact Rivets structure facilitates automated riveting, ensuring a firm connection with the contact piece and preventing vibration-resistant loosening.
