Products Description

A Chicago Screw consists of a cylindrical shank (screw rod) with internal and external threads and a nut with a matching inner bore. Its structural design is extremely simple, yet it delivers an exceptionally high level of connection reliability and ease of disassembly. Compared with traditional bolts, the Chicago Bolt boasts a design advantage of convenient disassembly after fastening, making it particularly suitable for application scenarios requiring frequent assembly or disassembly.
Different from the connection mode of traditional screws and nuts, a Stainless Steel Chicago Bolt features two rotatable components-the nut and the screw rod-offering a more convenient disassembly method and high resistance to loosening. The materials and manufacturing processes of the screw and nut can be customized according to requirements to meet the specific needs of different customers.

Product Advantages

Anti-loosening, Long-term Stability

The toothless cold stamping process enables the Flat Head Chicago Screw to achieve a tensile strength 1.5 to 2 times that of conventional cut threads. Combined with the full-thread structural design, it bears force evenly during tightening, avoiding deformation caused by local stress concentration. For high-vibration scenarios, self-locking threads or special pre-tightening adhesive treatment are available, which can withstand high-frequency electromagnetic impact and equipment vibration without loosening after long-term use, ensuring the mechanical stability of electrical connections.

Low-resistance Conductive Contact, Lossless and Reliable Electrical Conduction

The thread crimp design of the Round Head Chicago Bolt ensures tight fitting of metal surfaces, realizing low-resistance electrical conduction and avoiding heating and signal attenuation caused by poor contact. The copper alloy version features an electrical conductivity of over 40% IACS, suitable for high-current conduction scenarios; the stainless steel version is silver-plated to enhance electrical conductivity while retaining excellent corrosion resistance, meeting both electrical and protective requirements.

Upgraded Weather Resistance, Strong Adaptability to Complex Environments

The surface of the Post and Screw Fastener is treated with galvanizing, nickel plating, or passivation to form a dense protective layer, which can resist corrosion in complex environments such as humidity and salt spray. The 316L stainless steel version passes the 48-hour salt spray test without rusting, suitable for marine engineering and outdoor equipment; the silver-plated version further improves conductivity and anti-sulfuration performance, adapting to the harsh working conditions of new energy vehicles.

Precision Dimensional Control

Full-process dimensional calibration ensures that the thread inner diameter, outer diameter, and pitch all comply with ISO/DIN international standards. The Chicago Binding Screw of the same batch has minimal dimensional deviation, which can be directly adapted to automated assembly equipment and improve production efficiency. The miniature version adopts the thread rolling process to reduce friction during assembly and avoid thread damage.

Production Process

Screening and Pretreatment of High-Purity Raw Materials

Strictly select carbon steel, stainless steel, or copper alloy wires complying with ASTM standards. After incoming inspection, the component purity is verified by spectral analysis to ensure that the mechanical strength and electrical conductivity meet the design requirements. The wire surface is derusted and lubricated, laying a foundation for the subsequent cold stamping forming of Brass Chicago Screws.

Surface Protection and Whole-Process Inspection

Galvanizing, nickel plating, or passivation treatment is carried out according to scene requirements to enhance corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity; X-ray flaw detection, hardness testing, and salt spray corrosion testing are conducted before delivery to ensure that the structural strength, dimensional accuracy, and weather resistance of each Chicago Binding Screw meet the standards. Defective products are directly rejected, with a yield rate of 99.8%.

Non-serrated Cold Stamping Forming

A high-speed impact cold press is adopted to form the metal blank into a full-thread structure without heating the material, avoiding material loss and structural weakness caused by thread cutting. This process makes the internal structure of the thread compact and uniform, significantly improving the tensile strength and fatigue resistance, and is a core link to ensure the high rigidity of Electrical Panel Chicago Bolts.

Thread Rolling and Precision Calibration

For Ledger Screws with special requirements, the thread rolling process is used instead of cutting or forming, making the thread surface smoother and the strength higher. After forming, the thread dimensions are calibrated by high-precision measuring instruments to ensure that the inner diameter, outer diameter, and pitch all comply with international standards, avoiding poor assembly caused by dimensional deviations.
