What is Copper Stamped for Switches?

Copper Stamping for Switch

Copper Stamped for Switches is designed for electrical connection points where a stamped terminal is combined with a silver contact by riveting. In relay static terminals, switch mechanisms, and contactor connection assemblies, the copper section provides the formed conductive path while the silver contact forms the switching interface. The manufacturing route covers copper material preparation, stamping, shaping, in-die staking, silver contact assembly, and final inspection. The existing product configuration uses a copper terminal with a riveted silver contact and is intended for switch, relay, and connector components. Production can follow customer drawings or approved samples, with the terminal profile, contact position, hole layout, and riveting structure defined before mass production.

Production Process of Custom Copper Stamping

Material Sourcing

Raw copper and silver contact rivets are selected according to customer application requirements. Copper grades such as C1100 or C1020 are chosen for electrical conductivity and formability. Silver contact rivets use AgSnO2, AgNi, or AgCdO material grades to match specified load and arc resistance needs.

Stamping and Shaping

Copper coil stock is fed into progressive stamping tools. Piercing, bending, and blanking operations form the copper terminal profile. Dimensional tolerances are controlled per the part drawing for subsequent assembly.

In-Die Staking

In-die staking integrates silver contact rivets into stamped copper terminals within the progressive stamping die. The rivet shank expands inside the copper hole to form a mechanical lock. This method eliminates secondary manual riveting and maintains consistent rivet shear strength across production batches.

Final Testing and Inspection

Each component undergoes final testing, including electrical conductivity testing, dimensional checks, and mechanical stress tests. This ensures that all components meet the highest quality standards before being packaged for shipment.
