During the manufacturing process of copper stamping, residual stress inevitably arises within the material. If this residual stress is not effectively controlled, it can lead to deformation, cracking, or dimensional instability of the parts during use, severely impacting product reliability and lifespan. Therefore, selecting a suitable stress relief method is a crucial step in ensuring the quality of copper stamping.
Heat Treatment Method: Stress-Relief Annealing
Stress-relief annealing is the most commonly used and effective method for removing stress from stamping copper sheets. This process heats the custom copper stamping to a specific temperature, causing the internal microstructure of the metal to recover and reducing lattice distortion caused by plastic deformation.
For copper sheet stamping, the heating temperature is typically controlled between 250°C and 400°C. This temperature range effectively activates atomic diffusion, causing dislocations to rearrange, without causing recrystallization or grain coarsening, thus maintaining the material's original mechanical properties. The holding time needs to be determined based on the size and shape of the electrical copper stamping parts, generally between 1 and 3 hours, ensuring that heat fully penetrates to the core of the workpiece and that the internal and external temperatures are uniform.
Slow cooling is a crucial step in this process. Using furnace cooling, the metal stamping parts (electric copper) are cooled at a controlled rate, effectively avoiding the generation of new thermal stress due to uneven thermal shrinkage. For complex-shaped Copper Stamping Parts, it is recommended to use the lower limit of the annealing temperature range to prevent thermal deformation of thin-walled parts or sharp corners during heating.

Vibration Aging Process
Vibration aging is a method that uses mechanical vibration to eliminate residual stress. It is simple to operate and consumes relatively little energy. This process applies alternating loads to the Copper Strip Stamping using a vibration device, causing dislocations within the metal to move and gradually releasing stress concentration areas.
The operating frequency of the vibration device is typically in the range of 20Hz to 20kHz. In practice, the device must be matched to the natural frequency of the OEM Factory's customized Copper Metal Stamping Parts to achieve optimal energy transfer efficiency. The vibration duration is generally controlled between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the size, structural complexity, and initial stress level of the Copper Stamped Components. Vibration aging is particularly effective for small-sized Pressing Copper Stamping Bending Connecting Parts, achieving stress release without heating or altering the material's microstructure.

Stress control in copper stamping requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors, including part shape, material condition, operating conditions, and cost constraints. In actual production, it is often necessary to rationally select the aforementioned methods or combine multiple processes to achieve the best stress relief effect. The proper application of these methods can significantly improve the dimensional stability and service life of copper stamping, providing reliable assurance for downstream assembly and end-use applications.
