Depending on the duration of the rust prevention period, a thin-film or hard-film rust-preventive oil can be selected. In marine environments or high-salt-spray conditions, applying a hard-film rust-preventive oil to kelly bolted nuts provides longer-lasting protection. For short-term rust prevention between processes, easy-to-clean displacement-type rust-preventive oil can be used to ensure smooth subsequent machining.
